Cathie Desjardins’ first book of poems is With Child (Tasora Press, 2008) and her second book of poems, Buddha in the Garden, is forthcoming. She is a lifelong educator for all ages from preschool and K-12 through graduate school and Adult Ed. Her writing has been published in numerous journals including Pulse, The Christian Science Monitor. and Cognoscenti, WBUR’s online magazine. She is currently Poet Laureate of Arlington. MA.

Richard Hoffman has published four volumes of poetry, Without Paradise; Gold Star Road; Emblem; and his most recent collection Noon until Night. His other books include the memoirs Half the House and Love & Fury, and the story collection Interference and Other Stories. He teaches at Emerson College in Boston.

Tomas O’Leary has published 4 books of poetry, most recently “In the Wellspring of the Ear: poems new & selected” from Lynx House Press. His earlier titles are “Fool at the Funeral,” “The Devil Take a Crooked House,” & “A Prayer for Everyone.” His years of teaching evolved into working & playing with people who have Alzheimer’s. His Irish accordion was made in China.


The Center for the Arts is located between Davis Square and Union Square. Parking is located behind the armory at the rear of the building. Arts at the Armory is approximately a 15 minute walk from Davis Square which is on the MTBA Red Line. You can also find us by using either the MBTA RT 88 and RT 90 bus that can be caught either at Lechmere (Green Line) or Davis Square (Red Line). Get off at the Highland Avenue and Lowell Street stop. You can also get to us from Sullivan Square (Orange Line) by using the MBTA RT 90 bus. Get off at the Highland Avenue and Benton Road stop.
